> Tanglin repaid that money the same year, which in the world of finance is a great sign.
Isn't it the same _day_? I'd think it doesn't mean what it seems to and the repayment is always listed on the same day as the initial loan, except there is a single place where they are on different days (loan on 08.02.2019 and repayment on 11.02).
Ah, but it *starts* with a deposit and *ends* with a withdrawal, not the other way round. In other words, it starts with a repayment of money it had borrowed sometime earlier in the year.
I see! Then I am confused by "But then CCD would just re-lend the money back to Tanglin in a couple of days." since now it seems re-lending was usually the same day (except once), and it's repaying the loans that took a couple of days.
> When the regulator asks you to chuck your CEO out, you chuck your CEO out! You don’t give him a proxy CEO position as head of “strategy”.
This part was so funny 😂😂
Good post 👍

I see a lot of Matt levine's (of "Money Stuff" newsletter) writing style in yours and I absolutely love it!
